Part of it is that I'm teaching full time this semester, which really wears me out. After prep time and grading papers, the last thing I want to do is sit down and write anything. I find myself either playing mindless FPS games or surfing the internet, getting into arguments with total strangers over foreign relations and Barack Obama, rather than important stuff like the NFL and whether or not Asuka was hotter than Rei. (And she was, dammit.)
The other part is that I'm just hitting one of my periodic dry spells. I know this when I actually *do* sit down in front of the screen and begin writing. I thought writing another Evangelion fic might jump start the ol' muse; I got four pages in and stopped cold. Next was NCIS. I got the title down, anyway. Only one chapter left in my six year long "Snowbird Saga" epic, and I just can't seem to figure out how to finish it off. I know what I want to do, just not how.
I'll start writing again--took me almost three months last year when I hit my fall semester slump. Just waiting for my muse to come off vacation and kick me in the pants.
