Description
Back in the 1970s, some Japanese model company (I want to say Arii or Otaki) produced a series of superdeformed/chibi "eggplanes." They did a ton of them, but they sort of faded away during the 80s. Hasegawa bought the molds and reissued them around 2002. I loved these things when I was a kid--though Dad had to put them together for me then--so as an adult I had to buy and build them myself. Here's a Zero, circa 1941. The tail markings I believe put this in the IJNS Akagi's air group.
The model's actually painted IJN Gray, which looks mint green in person but photographs gray. The cockpit latticework was done by hand, with a toothpick. What you see on your screen is about how big the model is. Yes, that wasn't easy.

I built this one too - in green. It looks great in grey too!
