Empire Builder at St. Paul

One more train picture? Why not...

I took this one about 7:30 AM on a beautiful May morning in 2007, in St. Paul, Minnesota. I was riding Amtrak's Empire Builder from Montana to Chicago for Anime Central 2007. This is a trip I try and take once a year; despite being 23 hours long (sometimes more!), it's actually a lot of fun, and IMHO never boring. This is the first time you get to stretch your legs after about 8-10 hours on the overnight stretch from Minot to St. Paul.

The orange train in the background is the 1950s version of the Empire Builder, back when it was Great Northern rather than Amtrak. BNSF owns it now, I believe, and occasionally they still attach the cars to the present Empire Builder from the Twin Cities to Chicago.
